I nomi delle nostre strade non sono innocui elementi urbani, utili solo per orientarci nei luoghi che percorriamo: hanno un forte potere simbolico, sono stati e continuano a essere frutto di processi decisionali legati alla legittimazione del passato, e alla costruzione della memoria storica collettiva su quel passato. Non è un caso che, dalla Rivoluzione Francese alle proteste Black Lives Matter, le richieste politiche di cambiamento siano state accompagnate da momenti carichi di simbolismo legati alla rinominazione di strade, piazze e altri spazi urbani. Nell’odonomastica dell’Italia contemporanea, chi è visibile e chi invece rimane nell’invisibilità? Rispondiamo a questa domanda adottando una prospettiva di genere.
