Arieb Azhar
Arieb Azhar is a new Talent in Pakistan’s Music. Arieb’s musical journey started as a child when he discovered that when he expressed himself vocally, people would pay attention. According to him the early folk and classical music he listened to influenced his later love for traditional music. He picked up the guitar in his teens as a simple acoustic accompaniment for his voice. Always nurturing a love for poets of the Sufi and humanist tradition, Arieb has now found an expression that he can proudly call his own. His first album was Wajj which includes the immortal lyrics of Bhulleh Shah, Khwaja Ghulam Farid, and Mian Mohammad Baksh, as well as more contemporary lyrics by Sarmad Sehbai. Arieb is currently finishing his next album.
His famous songs are;
Husn-E-Haqiqi
Na Raindee Hai
Makke Gayan
Nach Dila

Childhood for Young Arieb
For his first 5 years, Arieb lived in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Arieb Azhar’s dad was helped launch the channel Pakistani Television (PTV). Aslam Azhar was known as the “Father of Television in Pakistan,” and was working as a broadcaster and director.
Then Arieb and the Azhar family moved to Karachi. When the Azhar family moved, Arieb’s brother bought a guitar but never played it. So, Arieb picked it up.
Being young, he dabbled as a singer and used to sing a lot of revolution songs. His songs were a protest against what he believed was wrong in the state.
Then again, the Azhar family moved to Islamabad for Arieb’s teen years.

Having left Pakistan at the tender age of nineteen, Arieb settled in Croatia for the next thirteen years to come. "Growing up, I went through several music phases," said Arieb who was part of an Irish band in Croatia for five to six years - producing two albums of purely Irish music. But there was something missing. Something that didn't quite feel 'complete'. "I was feeling a level of insincerity. I felt I got too caught up in the stardom aspect and strongly desired to reconnect back with my roots. I just kept going to whatever was pulling me," and so, putting thought into action, Arieb finally moved back to his motherland three years ago.
But what was it like when he moved back? Did he find it hard to adjust, spread his wings as an artiste in a country he was away from for thirteen long years? "My album took too long, almost a year and a half when in actuality it should have taken around three to four months. But finding the right musicians I could gel with was one of the reasons for the delay." Some label Arieb as the next Rabbi Sh
