William Adelbert Foster (February 17, 1915 – May 2, 1945) was a United States Marine who received the Medal of Honor for his "conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty" during World War II during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945.

Willa Jean (Foster) Duffy, 80, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. She retired from New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation after over 30 years of employment and was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Willa enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was upbeat, positive and always there for others with a smile on her face.

She was born on January 30, 1941 in Paoli, Indiana to Milburn and Marcella (Taylor) Foster. In addition to her parents, Willa was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimbra Bowman; and siblings, Nathalea Scholnick, Ora Fulks and Skip Foster.

Willa is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis "Tony" Duffy; children, Louis "Tony" Duffy, Jr. (Janene), Kris Hirsch (Steve); siblings, Donna Wisman, Claudia Morgan, Scot Foster; grandchildren that lovingly knew her as "Widdie" - Adam Bowman, Cassie Floyd (Josh), Tyler Hirsch (Lauren), Drew Hirsch, Claire Hirsch (fiancée, Sam), Lindsay Duffy (fiancée, DJ), Miranda Duffy (fianc

Willa Carlile Foster passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 from complications of dementia at Mt. Ridge Assisted Living.

She was born July 2, 1928 in Charleston, Utah to Roe and Pansy Winterton Carlile.

On November 20, 1946, Willa married Lee Wade Foster in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 69 years. She had resided in Ogden, Bountiful, St. George and Roy, Utah.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Roy 27th Ward.

Willa is survived by her husband, Lee, daughter, Cathy Foster (Richard) Bassett sons, Ken (Linda), Brent (Jan), Mike (Cindy), 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Keith, Don, Duanne Kippen and Marilyn Bethers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Theada Johnson and brothers, Reed and Harold Carlile.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Sunday fro
