American actor (born 1968)

Roger Howarth (born September 13, 1968) is an American actor. He played character Todd Manning on the daytime drama One Life to Live (OLTL); the character earned Howarth a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994,[1] and is cited as an icon in the soap opera genre.[2] He left the series in 2003 and joined soap opera As the World Turns, where he played the character of Paul Ryan until the series' final episode in 2010. Howarth returned to OLTL in May 2011, continuing the role on General Hospital in March 2012.[3] Due to a lawsuit from Prospect Park, Howarth, along with Kristen Alderson and Michael Easton, were forced to exit their roles in March 2013, only to return as new characters in May of the same year.[4] He returned as Franco on General Hospital, the character formerly created and portrayed by James Franco. Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor Roger Howarth took over the role of Franco Baldwin in 2013. Howarth was born in Westchester County, NY and decided to pursue acting following one semester at George Washington University. He enrolled at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center and performed at such prestigious regional theater centers as Williamstown (MA), Stagetown (Springfield, MA) and the Cleveland Playhouse. In addition, he has appeared in a New York Shakespeare Festival production of Macbeth, and as Probst in the WPA's The White Rose. He was selected through a nationwide talent search and subsequently won roles on LOVING and GUIDING LIGHT. Howarth created the role of "Todd Manning" on ABC's ONE LIFE TO LIVE in December 1992. He was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in 1994. Howarth appeared on OLTL from 1992-2003 and returned to the role again in 2011.
