The Heavenly Man is an autobiography of Brother Yun detailing his life from the
age of sixteen, through his three accounts of incarceration, and ending in his exile to
Germany.The Heavenly Man is the intensely dramatic story of how God took a young,half-
starved boy from a poor village in Henan Provinve and used him mightly to preach the gospel
despite horrific opposition. It was awarded the "Christian Book of the Year" in 2003. The title
comes from the name by which Brother Yun was known amongst the house church networks. He
gained that name from one night of interrogation when he would only answer "I am a Heavenly
Man!", instead of revealing his true name, in order to protect other Christians from the police.
Brother Yun was 16 when he became a Christian. Soon after, he started hungering

As a practitioner of martial arts Lam starred in a number of notable films that found recognition outside Hong Kong including Encounters of the Spooky Kind, The Prodigal Son and his best-known role in Mr. Vampire.

Childhood years
He was born Lam Gun-bo (林根寶) on 27 December 1952 in the year of the Dragon, in Hong Kong. His family originated from Shanghai, in the People's Republic of China. Both of his parents made a living by doing catering services. Lam was the third child of six children. His family was poor, and his parents weren't educated. Lam attended Shun Yi Association Elementary School in Hong Kong, but eventually dropped out after 2 yea
